The Lassithi Plateau is located about 800 meters above sea level. We find here windmills and lots of stones. On the county level you have a great view of the surrounding countryside. The “Cave of Psychro”, is the cave of Zeus birthpalce. It was an important place of worship of the Minoans. After this exploration we continue to Tzermiado a small village where time has stood still. Hospitality is a priority here. The Population sells beautiful weavings and the small Church in town is decorated with beautiful icons.

Mochos is a mountain village below the Lassithi Plateau. The drive to Mochos has a fantastic view over the bay of Stalis, Malia and Hersonissos. Arrived in the village there is a magnificent village church and many small taverns. Well fortified, we look at the Cretan museum “Lychnostatis”. This museum try to bring the visitor closer to how people lived back then. Chersonissos is strongly influenced by tourism. Many shops, bars, restaurants and nightclubs.
